What happened to the clavichord?
We have an old musical instrument.It is called a clavichord.It was made in Germany
in 1681.Our clavichord is kept in the living room.It has belonged to our family for a
long time.The instrument was bought by my grandfather many years ago.Recently it
was damaged by a visitor.She tried to play jazz on it!She struck the keys too hard
and two of the strings were broken.My father was shocked.Now we are not allowed
to touch it.It is being repaired by a friend of my fathers.
疑问1：标题Not for jazz翻译是不适于演奏爵士乐。为何不是可以翻译成不是为了爵士乐？这句话得如何分析呢？
疑问2：She tried to play jazz on it! 翻译是由于她用它来弹奏爵士乐。
（1）这里有这么明显的try to do的句型，为何没翻译？正常翻译不是应该她试着用它来弹奏爵士乐。
（2）这里的介词on，我查了一下金山词霸里的牛津字典：
by means of sth; using sth 通过；用；借用于
She played a tune on her guitar.
她用她的吉他弹了一支曲子。
The information is available on the Internet.
从网络上可得到这个信息。
We spoke on the phone.
大家通过电话谈了谈。
Whats on TV?
电视上有哪些节目？
The programmes on Channel 4.
这个节目在4频道。
既然这样我能否用with\by\in来代替on呢？变成
She tried to play jazz on \with\by\in it!
try to do sth. 试图、企图、努力做某事，某事尚没做成，所以用不定式。
try doing sth. 尝试做某事、试验做某事。某事做了。所以用动名词。
tried to play jazz on it. 试图用这把琴弹奏爵士乐。（结果爵士乐没弹成，琴弦断了）
你学习英语，把重点放在理解英语本身上。不要看翻译。翻译可以变通。
用乐器演奏某乐曲，介词用on, 即play music on it. 你一个人不要想当然的用其它介词替换。这是错误和危险的学习技巧。你的替换十有八九都是不对的。不要做这种尝试。正确的办法是在阅读中多察看，注意原文中介词的用法。
for在此表示适用范围，不是目的。
